Dear Parents / Guardians:

We are currently studying WWII and the Holocaust in American Heritage.  In conjunction with the textbook, I would like to utilize some supplementary material.  I am going to include excerpts from the HBO series Band of Brothers.

Band of Brothers is a mini series about the 101^st Airborne Division, starting with the D-Day Invasion.  This story is based on true-to-life stories and men.  There are occasionally graphic images and a few instances of strong language.  The episodes, though, are powerful and compelling and help to bring history to life.

If it is all right for your student to participate in viewing these videos, please sign below where indicated.  If you would prefer that your student does not view the films, please check the box.  He/She will be given a comparable alternative assignment (Internet research, excerpts from novels, etc).  Also, if this permission letter is not returned, it will be a viewed as an indication that your student is not to watch the clips.  This inability to participate in the viewings will NOT be held against your student in any way.  I appreciate your time and consideration.
